Robert Allen Pruitt Jr., lovingly known as Bobby, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 25, 1951, in Brownsville, Texas, to Duiane and Robert Pruitt, Bobby lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
He grew up in Bridge City, Texas, where he formed lifelong friendships and a love for sports and music as a member of the marching band and church choir. A proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 1973, Bobby was part of the Corps of Cadets, Company G2, and carried that Aggie spirit throughout his life.
Bobby married the love of his life, Renee Pruitt, and together they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage. Their partnership was marked by deep faith, mutual devotion, and the joy of raising a close-knit family.
A Master Electrician by trade, Bobby dedicated over 40 years to the electrical industry. He was respected not only for his technical expertise but also for his work ethic, mentorship, and honesty.
Bobby’s life was one of service—both in his community and his church. He served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and sang joyfully in the choir. Bobby’s faith led him to active involvement with Texas Baptist Men (Texans on Mission). He was a city councilman in Bridge City and was the Charter President of the local Kiwanis Club. Bobby also ministered to the incarcerated through the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and found fraternal brotherhood as a Third Degree Master Freemason.
Bobby found peace and joy outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, camping, or caring for his land with the same pride and purpose that guided every part of his life. Whether repairing a fence, clearing brush, or just enjoying the peace of the outdoors, he loved being on his ranch.
Above all, Bobby cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife Renee; their children Rachel and Eric Crafts, and Kyle Pruitt; grandchildren, Kyle and Sydney Pruitt, Gracy Crafts, Genna Crafts and Kolton Pruitt; and great-grandchild Konnor Pruitt. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Debbie and husband Mike Wilson and Sarah Pruitt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who brought him great joy throughout his life.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Parkway Bible Church, 303 E Pflugerville Pkwy, Pflugerville, TX. The family would like to invite you to a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. Bobby was casual so no suits or ties and wear maroon.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to organizations that supported Bobby’s dementia journey and were close to his heart:
