Leah Rea Johansson, 74, an esteemed educator and loving mother, passed away on April 30, 2025, in Livingston, Texas.
Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas, officiated by Darrell Segura. Visitation begins at 12:00 p.m. the same day.
Born on September 11, 1950, in Orange, Texas, Leah inspired many as a teacher of economics at Bridge City and founded the Bridge City Strutters, promoting community spirit. A dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Leah cherished her faith and loved her church family.
Leah enjoyed playing cards and traveling with friends, her warmth and laughter creating lasting memories.
She is survived by her sons, Eric (Erin) and Ryan Johansson, five grandchildren—Preston, Reagan, Aiden, Lauren, and Layla—and two great-grandchildren, Brailynn and Caydin. Leah is reunited with her late husband, Charles "Butch" Johansson, and her parents, Clell and Christine Long.
Leah will be remembered for her kindness, love for education, and vibrant spirit, leaving a legacy that inspires all who knew her.
