Paul Zoch

Paul Zoch graduated in 1980 from Bridge City High School as “Highest Ranking Boy” and magna cum laude and voted most likely to succeed. During High School, he participated in Junior Achievement, achieving first place as officer of the year/treasurer.
He graduated from Lamar University in 1983 after 3 ½ years with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. While at Lamar University, he was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated as a top accountant in his class, receiving the Deloitte Haskins & Sells Outstanding Accounting Achievement Award. In addition, he graduated Summa cum laude and was a member of these honor organizations: Phi Eta Sigma, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Phi Kappa Phi. Also, he was a member of Beta Alpha Psi and the Student Government Association at Lamar. Later, he received his master’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Houston.
He attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, in 1984 and returned to Houston after a year and worked at Coastal Oil and Gas for two years in Houston, then went to work as an accountant at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Then, he attended the Theological Education Ministry Program of the Lutheran Church in America in Austin, Texas, for two years. Paul returned to Bridge City in 1997 as a lay minister to St. Mark Lutheran Church and fulfilled his dream of ministry when he was ordained as a Lutheran Pastor in February 2016. Paul led the successful merger in 2013 between Trinity Lutheran Church, Orange, and St. Mark Lutheran Church, Bridge City, to become Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In addition, the church building expanded, adding a gym, classrooms, and a resale shop.
Paul owns real estate in Bridge City. He volunteers at the soup kitchen for Some Other Place in Beaumont and the Lighthouse Soup Kitchen in Orange. He served on the board of directors for the Bridge City/Orangefield Ministerial Alliance and Orange Christian Services, the committee that designed the new Bridge City Elementary School, and the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee. In 2021, he was elected to the Bridge City Independent School District and currently serves as a School Board Trustee. In July 2024, Paul completed the Leadership Texas Association of School Boards training, becoming a Master Trustee. He also serves on the Board of CASA of the Sabine Neches Region as President.
