It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney (Rick) L. Killebrew, age 73, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on September 29, 1951 in Beaumont, Texas. Rick married Tammy (Rhoads) Killebrew on September 14, 1986 in Austin, Texas. He worked as the Grounds Supervisor for Leander School District for 26 years and as an honorary ice cream truck man for the last two years.
Rick was an outdoors enthusiast sharing his passion for mountain biking, adventure racing, running, golfing, baseball and softball with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ladell Killebrew Blakeney. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 38 years, his father, Troy Blakeney and wife Diana, and his brother, Mike Blakeney and wife Brandee.
Our heartfelt thank you to Ana Romero and America Alcantara for the loving care provided over the many years to Rick and for adopting him into their families.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr., Austin, Texas 78731.
