Board Advisor

Patty R. Collins, MS, PHR, CAE

Patty Collins serves as an Advisor to the Bridge City High School Alumni Foundation Board. She is employed by Lamar State College-Orange (LSCO) as the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Educational Support.  Prior to joining LSCO, Patty spent twenty-one years at a non-profit educational organization serving the petrochemical and refining industry in Southeast Texas.

Patty is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with over 25 years’ experience in many aspects of nonprofit association work including leadership, operations, accounting, and human resource functions.  She is also a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and holds the SHRM-CP certification.  She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Science in Organization Development from Abilene Christian University.  

Patty is very active in several community organizations, including serving as the Vice President for the Wellspring Credit Union Board, Founder and Chair of the Bridge City ISD Education Foundation, and Chapter Administrator for the Southeast Texas SHRM Chapter.  Patty was elected to serve as Bridge City Council Member Place 4 in 2022 and is currently serving in her second term on the Council.  She has also served on the Bridge City ISD Board of Trustees. During her three-year tenure, she served as Assistant Secretary and as Secretary of the Board of Trustees.  If you ask her about being a politician, she will quickly tell you that although she is an elected official, she considers herself a servant leader with a passion for her hometown and the people and businesses who make it so wonderful.

Patty previously served on the Bridge City ISD Taking Stock and Facilities Committees, comprising school district employees and community volunteers. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for Girls’ Haven (including serving as President), St. Mary Hospital Foundation, Junior Achievement of the Golden Triangle, Leadership Southeast Texas, and United Way of Orange County (including serving as President).

St Paul Methodist Church, which her late grandmother helped establish, is another organization that Patty is privileged to serve. She currently serves as the Chair of the Prayer Garden Committee. Past assignments at the church have included the Staff-Parish Relations, Finance, and New Building committees and serving on the Board of Trustees of St. Paul Methodist Church.

 Patty was born and raised in Bridge City, where she makes her home today with her four-legged daughter, Abigail, the 20-pound Chiweenie who rules the house.  She has one son, Joshua, a daughter-in-love, Amanda, and three precious grandchildren.
